Iqbal included in ODI squad

Karachi, February 2:

Pakistan cricket selectors on Thursday retained middle-order batsman Faisal Iqbal for the 16-member squad for the limited-overs international series against India.

Iqbal his maiden Test century in Pakistan’s 341-run victory this week in the decisive third Test against India.

The five-match limited-overs series begins on from February 6 at Peshawar, while Rawalpindi (Feb 11), Lahore (Feb 13), Multan (Feb 16) and Karachi (Feb 19) will host the other matches.

Leg-spinner Danish Kaneria and fast bowler Mohammad Sami were dropped after both failed in the Test matches. Allrounder Shoaib Malik returns to the squad after missing the third Test due to the death of his father. Iqbal might not get a chance after captain Inzamam-ul-Haq was declared fit for the ODIs after a back injury.

Inzamam missed the third Test after he injured his back during the drawn second Test at Faisalabad.
