Judokas assist in traffic mgmt
Kathmandu, June 19
Judo players on Monday assisted in traffic management at various places of Kathmandu as part of the Olympic Day celebration.
The judokas conducted traffic awareness programmes for the pedestrians after having a session with the Nepal Police officials. The players conducted the programmes at Tripureshwor, Thapathali, Maitighar, Singhadurbar, New Road, Ratna Park and Bir Hospital areas.
Similarly, All Nepal Kabbadi Association organised one-day competition. A total of four teams, two from Tribhuvan Army Club and one each from Bhaktapur Club and Kathmandu Club, took part in the event held at the Dasarath Stadium covered hall. TAC dominated the tournament with their ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams winning gold and silver medals respectively.
Also, Koteshwor Taekwondo Dojang organised taekwondo tournament that featured 23 events — four in poomsae and 19 in Kyorugi.
Nepal Olympic Committee President Jeevan Ram Shrestha handed over the certificates to winners. NOC is organising various programmes for a week to celebrate the Olympic Day.
