Kailali defeat Bara, advance to last four

Kailali District Cricket Academy advanced to the semi-finals of the Ruslan Attariya Cup Women’s Cricket Tournament here today.

Kailali defeated Bara Cricket Academy by eight wickets in their Group B match and booked their place in the last four as runners-up.

Opting to bat first, Bara managed 67-9 in their allotted 20 overs before Kailali achieved the target in 12 overs with eight wickets in hand.

Bara’s Saraswoti Pun remained unbeaten on 19 off 39 balls, while Mamata Chaudhary contributed 10 off 16 balls with the help of two boundaries. Other batters failed to reach double-figure mark.

Suman Bista picked up two wickets for Kailali, whereas Kabita Kunwar, Anjali Chand and Laxmi Saud claimed one wicket each.

In reply, Kailali achieved the target riding on player-of-the-match Manju Bokati’s unbeaten 33 off 38 balls that included four boundaries. Kabita Kunwar scored 22 off 26 balls. Bara’s Samana Pun took one wicket. Kailali will now face Group A winners Nepal APF Club, while Group B winners Rising Cricket Women play against Group A runners-up Milan Cricket Academy in the semi-final matches.

The winners and runners-up of the competition will get Rs 200,000 and Rs 100,000 respectively, while the best player will take home Rs 25,000. Likewise, the best batter, bowler and wicketkeeper will receive Rs 10,000 apiece.
