Kallis hits another 50, as Royal Challengers beat Mumbai Indians
MUMBAI: Breaking News! Jacques Kallis, who has been in tremendous form in IPL 2010, hit another half century to power Royal Challengers Bangalore to an easy victory over Mumbai Indians tonight.
Tendulkar and Saurav Tiwari made 25 each. Rajagopal Sathish made 24, while Kieron Pollard scord 22. Zaheer Khan remained unbeaten on 23 off 9 balls. For RoyalChallengers Bangalore, Dale Steyn and Vinay Kumar took 3 wickets each.
Chasing a victory target of 152, Royal Challengers never looked in trouble and the openers added 85 runs for the first wicket. Manish Pandey scored 40 off 27 balls. Jacques Kallis produced his third consecutive unbeaten knock to see his team through.
Kallis remained unbeaten on 66 off 55 balls, as RCB reached 155/3 in 19.1 overs. Robin Uthappa made 23. It was the third successive victory for RoyalChallengers, while it was the first loss for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2010. Kallis was declared “Man of the Match”.
Earlier, Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first. However, some disciplined bowling by RCB bowlers put them on the back foot. The Mumbai Indians finished at 151/9 in 20 overs.
Despite losing the first match of IPL 2010, Royal Challengers Bangalore came back strongly in the last three matches and won all by convincing margins. They now move to the top of IPL 2010 Points Table.
