KATHMANDU: Karan Chaudhary of Tribhuvan Army Club advanced to the semi-finals of the first Inter-club Valleywide Open Boxing Tournament here on Thursday. Chaudhary defeated Pawan Shrestha of Naxal in the 52kg weight category. In 49kg, TAC boxer Dinesh Mahato and Naxal duo Sushil Thapa and Madan Krishna Dangol made it to the last four. A total of 51 players from 11 clubs are competing in 10 categories. Earlier, former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal inaugurated the tournament organised by National Boxing Association formed under CPN-UML-affiliated Nepal Sports Federation.
