Kathmandu, June 30

American professional boxer Keith Thurman Jr married his 24-year-old Nepali girlfriend Priyana Thapa here on Friday.

The two had first met in Japan a year ago and spent time together before Thurman proposed to marry Thapa. The wedding ceremony that took place at a hotel in Kathmandu was attended by family members and close friends.

Thurman is unified welterweight world champion having held the WBA title since 2013 (promoted to Super Champion in February 2017) and the WBC title since March 2017.
