Khan files for divorce

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan cricket legend-turned-politician Imran Khan and his second wife are filing for divorce.

Reham Khan says on Twitter on Friday that she and her husband are parting ways and filing for divorce.

A spokesman for Khan’s political party, Pakistan Tahrik-e-Insaf, confirms the divorce and says it was a mutual agreement. Imran Khan and former television anchor Reham Khan were married for nine months.

He had lived alone for 11 years following his divorce from his first wife, Briton Jemima Goldsmith. Imran Khan and Goldsmith were married for nine years and split in 2004. He has two sons from that relationship who live with their mother in the UK.

Khan’s party is the strongest opponent of Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s government.
