KATHMANDU: Inter-District Sports Club and Makwanpur Cricket Club advanced to the quarter-finals of the Khukuri Challenger T20 Cup here at the Mulpani Cricket Ground on Monday.

Inter-District, Makwanpur and Rautahat Rising-XI accumulated nine points each from four matches in Group D. Inter-District and Makwanpur finished as group winners and runners-up respectively on net run rate.

In the day’s match, Inter-District defeated Tikapur Cricket Club by six wickets. Put into bat first, Tikapur were bowled out for 119 runs in 16.1 overs before Inter-District raced to 122-4 in 18.5 overs. Inter-District’s Sagar Bhandari, who claimed four wickets, was named the man-of-the-match.

Similarly, Rautahat defeated Makwanpur by five runs.

Rautahat scored 100-9 in 20 overs before restricting Makwanpur to 95-8.

Rautahat’s Shankar Patel was adjudged the man-of-the-match.
