Kings — who replaced national team skipper Paras Khadka with KC after he pulled out of the tournament — will open the DPL campaign with a match against Dhangadhi Stars on Saturday.

“We do not have big stars in the team but we believe our squad is balanced and we are capable of lifting the title,” said coach Lama. “We will try to give our best in the tournament,” he added. Skipper KC said his side was committed to give its 100 per cent in the tournament. “We have a strong side and the players are capable of winning matches,” he added.

Franchise owner Baidhya said the team was more focused on playing good cricket in Dhangadhi. “We will see how it goes this year and we have a plan to come up with a different plan from next edition,” he said. Asked about the agreements with the sponsors and partners, Baidhya said: “We have signed one-year deals with all the sponsors and we have agreed to work together for this edition.”
