Kiwis take command

HAMILTON: An unbroken century stand from Martin Guptill and Brendon McCullum guided New Zealand to 258-5 on the opening day of the one-off Test with Bangladesh. Kiwis were tottering on 158-5, but the in-form Guptill fired 11 fours in his 80 from 154 balls. He was ably supported by McCullum, in his 50th Test, who struck eight fours in 54 from 71 balls, his 16th fifty. A damp start and bad light late in the day saw a total of 21.5 overs lost. The start of the match was delayed for an hour because of wet conditions at Seddon Park.
