KATHMANDU: The 11th South Asian Games gold medallist Nepali karateka Sunil Lama won gold medal in the 22nd Traditional Karate-do Invitational Champion in New York on Sunday. In the 67kg weight category, Lama edged past Will Torres of the USA 1-0 in final to earn the gold medal. Lama, who had a first-round bye, beat Joey Castro of Venezuela 7-3 in the semi-final bout. Earlier this year, he had won gold in the 21st Annual Hiraldo’s Kai Shobukan Karate-do Championship in New York.
