KATHMANDU: Nepal Weightlifting Association welcomed the team that finished runners-up in the third International Fajr Cup Weightlifting Championship held in Iran from March 6-11.

NWA Vice-president Ram Shrestha, General Secretary Parth Sarathi Sen Gupta, Secretary Tilak Raut among others welcomed the team at the Tribhuvan International Airport on Wednesday.

Nepal won five bronze medals to finish second in the 12-nation competition. Surendra Shrestha won three bronze, while Kamal Bahadur Adhikari bagged two.

Similarly, Pukar Gurung improved on his national record.
