NSC get Rs 20 million

KATHMANDU: The National Sports Council (NSC) received Rs 20 million from Education and Sports ministry for the development of physical infrastructure. “We will identify our priorities before using the money,” said member secretary of the National Sports Council at a press meet on Sunday. Shrestha thanked the ministry for providing the special budget. The Nepal Government had allocated Rs 130 million budget for the current fiscal year apart preparation budget of Rs 30 million and Rs 10 million for the 10th South Asian Games and 15th Asian Games respectively. — HNS

US Embassy win

KATHMANDU: The US Embassy registered a 4-2 win over British Embassy in the first Independence Day Football Tournament here at the Embassy of India grounds on Sunday. Purna Gurung, Gopal Thapa Magar, Reshav Bahadur Singh, and B Thapa Magar scored for the US Embassy while Joe Nyanthi and Martin Gonzales replied for British Embassy. In another match, NUFC (UNO) beat Kendriya Vidhyalaya 6-1. Raymond Brandes struck twice and Yves Cams, Philipo, Subhash and Dusan Vukotic added one goal each for NUFC.
