Dipendra Police win

LALITPUR: Dipendra Police HS School defeated Gitamata HS School 4-0 in the second-round match of the Coca Cola Inter-school Football Tournament at the ANFA Complex. Pradeep Sen struck twice, while Prakash Gurung and Dinesh Karki netted one goal each for the winners. The other Group B match between Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya and Little Angels’ School ended in a goalless draw. On Tuesday, its: Siddhartha Vanasthali vs Shivapuri and Biswo Gorkha vs Bhaktapur School. — HNS

Wilson, Shrine triumph

KATHMANDU: Wilson Academy and Shrine Academy won the boys and girls’ title respectively in the first Inter-school Basketball Tournament organised jointly by Employees’ Committee of the National Sports Council and sportsfancy.com on Monday. Krishna Shrestha netted 19 points as Wilson beat Valley Public 59-34 and Shrine defeated 36-25 riding on 15 points from Mina Gautam. Krishna Shrestha of Wilson and Bina Khadka of Shrine were adjudged the most valuable players of the tournament in boys and girls’ section respectively. In all, 16 teams in boys and eight in girls’ sections took part in the tournament. — HNS

APF honour spikers

KATHMANDU: Pashupatinath Brigade of Armed Police Force (APF) honoured the volleyball team that won the recently concluded first APF Running Trophy Volleyball Tournament. Congratulating the players and officials for their success in the tournament, Deputy Inspector General of the APF Kishor Kumar Lama gave away tracksuit each to all the team members. — HNS
