Baba, TIA win:

KATHMANDU: Baba Boarding School and Trungram International Academy (TIA) registered wins at the third HIMS Inter-school Basketball Tournament here on Monday. Baba made a marvellous comeback despite trailing 13-21 by the half time to beat hosts Himalayan International Model School (HIMS) 44-41. Baba scored 15 and 16 in the last two quarters restricting HIMS to eight and 12 points respectively. Pasang Kaji Sherpa top-scored with 21 points for HIMS while Lakpa Gelu Sherpa netted 12 for Baba. In another match, Mohan Limbu netted 41 points alone as TIA defeated Shuvatara (Sanepa) 57-37. — HNS

Peace marathon:

KATHMANDU: Yangrima Ex-Student Society (YESS) is organising the YESS Marathon for Peace and Education here on Friday. The race will begin from Bouddha gate and ends at Swayambhu, said the organises in a release on Monday. The organisers are expecting about 150 participants, mostly youths, in the event. The objective to hold the race is to bring youths together to devote their heart and mind for peace initiatives, added the release.— HNS

APF volleyball:

KATHMANDU: Baraha Brigade of Pakali and Pashupatinath Brigade of Kathmandu advanced to the final of the first APF Running Trophy Volleyball Tournament here on Monday. Baraha defeated Muktinath Brigade of Pokhara 25-10, 25-21, 21-25, 25-17 in the first semi-final while Pashupatinath ousted Baidhyanath Brigade of Attariya 25-17, 25-19, 21-25, 25-19 in the other semi-final. The final is slated for Wednesday. — HNS
