Volleyball League :

KATHMANDU: Armed Police Force (APF) Officers’ Club continued with their winning streak at the Dhorpatan Blue Sky Cup Volleyball League Championship here today. APF registered an easy 25-20, 25-18, 25-18 victory over Bode Yuva Club for their seventh straight win. Likewise, Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) beat Nightingale Sports Club 25-18, 25-16, 25-23 to register their sixth straight win at the championship. In other matches of the day, Wild Sports Club came from behind for a 20-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-20, 15-9 win over Gulmeli Yuva Club while Shikhar Sanskritik Manch struggled against Karunakeswor Yuva Club before winning 23-25, 26-24, 25-21, 25-14. — HNS

Kirtipur Cup :

KIRTIPUR: Rara Hill defeated Kirti Secondary School 32-31 in extra period after tying on 28 points in the normal time at the Kirtipur Cup Inter-school Basketball Tournament here today. In a low scoring match, Rara Hill was trailing by four points until half time but succeed to level the score in the final two quarters, forcing the game to extra period. Rara netted four while Kirti scored three in the added time. Ajay Maharjan top-scored with 15 points for Kirti school while Jesis Maharjan netted 13 points for the winners. — HNS

Badminton tourney :

KATHMANDU: Triyog High School is organising the Inter-school Badminton Tournament at the Dasharath Stadium covered hall from September 17-20. The tournament features eight events — senior and junior boys’ singles, senior and junior girls’ singles, boys’ and girls’ doubles, boys’ and girls’ team events. A total of 200 students from 12 schools are expected for the championship supported by Nepal Badminton Association and Kathmandu Badminton Association, the organiers said at a press meet today. — HNS
