Felicitation :

KATHMANDU: The National Sports Council is organising a grand civic felicitation programme on Friday to honour the winners at the recently concluded 10th South Asian Games in Colombo.

The rally will begin from Dasharath Stadium, Tripureswore en route to New Road, Basantapur, Indrachowk, Bhotahiti, Ratna Park, Bagbazaar, Putalisadak, Thapathali and back to the stadium.

A decorated elephant bearing a national flag and sports flag will lead the rally followed by a horse chariot for the gold medallists and open vans for the silver and bronze medallists. Nepal won nine gold, 15 silver and 31 bronze medals in the regional tournament. — HNS

RIBS basketball :

KATHMANDU: Rhododendron International Boarding School (RIBS) is organising the fourth Inter-school Basketball Tournament from Friday.

The tournament includes three categories — Senior Boys, Junior Boys and Girls. A total of 16 schools from Kathmandu Valley will take part in the senior boys’ category while

eight teams will vie for the junior boys’ championship and seven school

will participate in the girls’ event. The host RIBS

won the previous three senior titles. — HNS
