National ITF C’ship
KATHMANDU: Kavre ITF Taekwondo Association in coordination with Nepal International Taekwondo Federation is organising the second General Choi Memorial National Taekwondo Champion in Banepa from April 28-29. About 250 players from 12 zones will fight for 27 gold medals. According to the organiser, the event has been taken as the selection tournament for the third Asian ITF Taekwondo Tournament scheduled for November in New Delhi, India. — HNS
‘B’ Division League
KATHMANDU: Pulchowk Sports Club defeated Tusal Youth Club 4-3 while Sano Gaucharan Youth Club thrashed Boys’ Sports Club 5-1 in the last day matches of the Martyr’s Memorial ‘B’ Division League here at the Dasharath Stadium on Tuesday. Manoj Lama, Sabir Chaudhary, Sadhir Shrestha and Bal Krishna Maharjan scored a goal each for Pulchowk while Nawaraj Ghale scored twice and Ashok Pun one for Tusal. In the second game, Santosh Shresth completed hat-trick and Duryodhan Chaudhary and Milas Shahi added one each for Sano Gaucharan. Sriraj Maharjan pulled back a consolation goal for Boys’ Sports. The match started after a minute of silence in memory of Boys’ Sports Club’s secretary Om Krishna Shrestha. Saraswoti Youth Club have already been promoted to the upper Division with Star finishing second in the table. Friends’ Club was relegated to ‘C’ Division on Monday. — HNS
