Nepal beat Goa

Ranjit Shrestha scored a hat-trick as Nepali U team thrashed Goa 6-0 in the Subroto Mukerjee Cup Football Tournament, which has been organised by Subroto Mukerjee Education Foundation under the auspices of Indian Air Force in New Delhi, on Wednesday. Deepak Bhusal struck twice and Bharat Khawas netted one goal for the Nepali team, who beat Manipur 4-0 in their first match on Monday. Nepal will take on Jharkhand on Thursday. — HNS

KATHMANDU:

Prime College defeated Gyanodaya 78-31 riding on Chaman Thapa’s 20 points in the Campion Inter-school Basketball Tournament, which has been organised by Campion College. In other matches, FW Taylor beat Himalayan White House International College 71-57 and National Integrated College defeated Sagarmatha Multiple College 54-52. In Thursday’s semi-finals to be held in Campion College at Kumaripati, it’s: Prime vs FW Taylor and Campion ‘A’ vs NIC. — HNS

Nepal Basketball Association and DHL Express Nepal Pvt Ltd are jointly organising the Corporate Basketball Tournament from October 7-9 at NSC covered hall. In all, 12 teams — Prisma Advertising, Kumari Bank, Standard Chartered Bank Nepal, Himalayan Bank Ltd, Nabil Bank, Bank of Kathmandu, Golchha Organisation, Soaltee Crowne Plaza, Shikhar Insurance, Jyoti Group, Mercantile Communication, and DHL Express Nepal — are taking part in the knock-out tournament. — HNS
