Mahabir in final

KATHMANDU: Mahabir Club entered the final of the sixth Sano Gaucharan Knock-out Football Tournament beating Sano Gaucharan Club 3-1. Chandra Rana, Babin Bista and Som Lama scored for Mahabir, while Junior Obeg Emiro scored a consolation goal for Sano Gaucharan.

Krishna beats Sanu

KATHMANDU: Krishna KC defeated Sanu Gurung to win the women’s 55-kg title at the first Friendship Karate and Kick Boxing Tournament. Crown Prince Paras inaugurated the two-day event. In men’s kick boxing, Rabindra Maharjan beat Kamal Lama and entered the semis. Jeetendra Mahaseth, Krishna Kumar Manandhar, Bikram Banjara, Nirajan Kingring, Rajesh Manandhar, Binod Maharjan, Sunny Chaulagain and Bharat Kunwar advanced to the last eight.

Athletics elections

KATHMANDU: The three district bodies of the Nepal Amateur Athletics Association held their elections. In Doti, a 11-member committee was elected under the presidentship of Dil Bahadur Bam, while Pawan Kumar Mishra was elected as the president of Saptari committee and Kanhaiya Kumar Karna was elected as the president of Dhanusha body.

Jagat Mandir win

KATHMANDU: Jagat Mandir thrashed Manaslu 72-2 in the Kathmandu District wide Inter-school Basketball Tournament. Also, Bhanubhakta beat Deepshikha 27-3; Zenith beat Seti Sadan 28-14; Wilson beat Mount Glory 65-24; and Young Heart beat Mount View 36-30.

HVM, SOS in semis

KATHMANDU: Hosts Himalaya Vidya Mandir, SOS of Kavre, New Summit and Happy Home entered the boys’ team event semi-finals at the 2nd HVM Inter-school Table Tennis Tournament. In girls’ section, AIMS, Canvas, Happy Home and SOS entered the last four. — HNS
