Anita, Sunita win gold

KATHMANDU: The duo of Anita and Sunita of Kanya School beat the duo of Navita and Shweta of Bijeshwori School 3-2 in the girls’ team event final at the first Shridiwa Inter-school Table Tennis Tournament, today. Ideal Model School and Canvas School came joint third in the same event. In boys’ section, the team of Prajjwal Raj Bhandari, Sujan Manandhar

and Subarna Raut of New Summit School defeated the team of Suraj Shrestha, Sabin Prasai and Bhola Shrestha of Adarsha Vidya Mandir School 3-2. Little Angles’ School and Ideal Model

School finished joint third. The three-day tournament has been organised by Shridiwa International School.

Nationwide Karate

KATHMANDU: Everest Budhokaido Full Contact Martial Art, branch dojo of Nepal Budokaido Full Contact Association, is organising the fourth Nationwide Weight Category Full Contact Karate Competition from June 24-25 to mark the 59th birthday of King Gyanendra. In all, 154 athletes, including nine from various districts, will take part in the tournament. The event features nine weight categories — seven in men’s and two in women’s sections. The winners in each weight category will recieve Rs 5,000.

Bode School finish third

KATHMANDU: Shree Bode School defeated Little Star School 25-14, 27-25, 25-20 and claimed

the third place in the boys’ section of the Valleywide Inter-school Volleyball Tournament, which has been organised by National Open College. The finals of the both girls’ and boys’ sections are scheduled for Saturday.

Angels Heart win opener

KATHMANDU: Pujan Shrestha netted 18 points as Angel’s Heart School defeated Himalaya International Model School 47-29 in the inaugural match of the Inter-school Open Basketball Tournament, which has been organised by Whitefield Higher Secondary School for the SLC-appeared students. On Friday, it’s: Whitefield vs Nava Jyoti, Kanchanjungha vs Gyanodaya, Sunshine Academy vs Birendra Sainik and EPS vs Galaxy. — HNS
