Singh in doubt

KATHMANDU: Three Star Club skipper and goalkeeper Upendra Man Singh is in doubt for their Birthday Cup match against NRT slated for Thursday. The former national team skipper was hit by the ball oh chest while practising on Sunday. “There is still a little bit of pain, but the X-rays showed no serious injuries. So, it will be decided tomorrow whether I can play or not,” said Singh.

HIMS B’ball

B’day Cup karate

KATHMANDU: Bouddha branch dojo of Nepal Shito Ryu Karate Association is organising the first Inter-dojo Karate and Kick Boxing Tournament on June 18 and 19 to mark the 59th birthday of King Gyanendra. In all, 190 athletes — 137 in men’s and 53 in women’s sections —from 20 dojos will fight in various weight categories for a total of 88 medals — 22 gold, 22 bronze and 44 silver medals. — HNS
