RIBS, Baba win titles
KATHMANDU: Ajay Gurung scored 21 points as Rhododendron International Boarding School (RIBS) defeated Brihaspati Vidya Sadan 59-46 in the senior boys’ section final of the fourth Baba Basketball Tournament organised by Baba Boarding School, here today. Gurung was later declared the best player. In junior boys’ section final, hosts Baba outplayed RIBS 82-27, in which Prabin Gurung top-scored netting 31 points. Gurung also bagged the best player’s award. — HNS
HIMS beat Galaxy School
KATHMANDU: Tashi Dhondup top-scored netting 27 points as Hosts Himalaya International Model School (HIMS) defeated Galaxy Public School 58-38 in the HIMS Inaugural Inter-school Basketball Tournament. In other matches, Dhondup Tsering top-scored with 12 points but failed Shridiwa International from a 29-35 loss to Sambotta; and Gyanodaya overwhelmed Manjuguksha 63-29 in which Anup Man Shrestha scored 18 points. — HNS
HWHIC enter semi-finals
KATHMANDU: Himalayan White House, Sagarmatha Multiple College, NCCS College and Kathmandu Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) entered the semi-finals of the third Himalayan Cup Inter-college Bachelor’s Level Basketball Tournament, which has been organised by a student group of Himalayan White House College. In the day’s only match, Sagarmatha College defeated Nepal Integrated College 42-36. Yug Deep Thapa of Sagarmatha top-scored in the match with 21 points, while Niraj Shrestha of NIC netted 14 points. In June 19 semis, White House will face Sagarmatha and NCCS will play KIST. — HNS
