White House win

KATHMANDU: Himalayan White House International College beat Crimson College 73-39 in an one-sided affair in the inaugural match of the third Himalayan White House Inter College Bachelor’s Level Basketball Tournament, which has been organised by a group of bachelor-level students of Himalayan White House International College.

White House Skipper Trilocahn Khadka top-scored with 18 points, while Arpan Gauchan and Sachhindra Shrestha netted 14 and 10 points espectively. In other matches, National Integrated College beat Nepal Engineering College 44-40, KIST defeated K & K Management College 30-26, and NCCS outplayed Sagarmatha Multiple College 48-38. In all, eight colleges are taking part in the tournament, which ends on June 21.

Baba advance

KATHMANDU: Gyan Niketan, Young Hearts, Wilson Academy, Daffodil, Brihaspati Vidya Sadan, Ideal Model, Rhododendron International Boarding School (RIBS) and Baba School entered the quarter-finals of the fourth Baba Basketball Tournament, which has been organised by Baba Boarding School.

In the day’s matches held at the school premises, Gyan Niketan beat Young Heart 58-57; Brihaspati routed Rupy’s International 47-10; and LRI outplayed New Summit 48-25.

HIMS basketball

KATHMANDU: Himalaya International Model School (HIMS) is organising the HIMS Inter-School Basketball Tournament from Thursday, at the school court in Narayantar, Jorpati. In all, 15 teams — Gyanodaya, RIBS, TIA, HIMS, Sambotta, Galaxy, LRI, Wilson, Intensive Academy, Namgyal, St Xavier’s, Gyan Niketan, Manju Ghoksha, Sridiwa, and Shuvatara — are taking part in the 10-day tournament.

Galaxy will play Namgyal School in the inaugural match, while HIMS will take on LRI in the second match.

The participating teams are divided into four pools, and top one each will advance to the semi-finals. — HNS
