Jyoti lift title

KATHMANDU: Jyoti Academy of Lalitpur defeated Reliance International Academy 20-10 in the final of the second National Open Inter-school Handball Tournament, organised by Sadabahar Sports Society. Dilesh Sunuwar scored 10 goals for the winners and was declared the best player. Jyoti Model School of Udaypur finished third with a 10-4 win over Tops School. The top three teams received Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively. — HNS

AVM triumph

KATHMANDU: Rajan Memorial beat Daffodil by 13 runs and hosts Adarsha Vidya Mandir defeated Nightingale by 10 runs in the fifth SNB Memorial Inter-school Cricket Tournament. Sujan KC scored 18 and Aamir Khan, who later picked up four wickets, made 17 as Rajan Memorial made 93-6 in 20 overs. Daffodil were all out for 80 runs in 17. 3 overs despite Gaurab Mainali’s 26-ball 23. In another match, AVM made 97-8 and Nightingale could only muster 87-9. Man of the match Safal Shrestha made 30 for AVM while Sunil Shah scored 26 for Nightingale. — HNS

Golden Peak thrashed Gillettee 36-8; Gyan Niketan beat HIMS 20-15; Deep Jyoti defeated Valley Public 43-36; and Arunodaya overcame Newton 40-22. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Defending champions Campion Academy defeated Brihaspati 66-33 to register their third victory at the second CPS Cup Inter-college Basketball Tournament. Also, Unique beat DAV College 40-35; Prime outplayed National 61-47; and Grand Academy overwhelmed Kantipur Valley 57-10. — HNS
