HSC in last four

KATHMANDU: Himalayan Sherpa Club (HSC) rallied to a 2-1 win over Nepal Football Association Club (NFAC) ‘B’ and ensured a place in the semi-finals of the seventh Sano Gaucharan Knockout Football Tournament here on Tuesday. Bharat Khawas equalised in the 24th minute before Dipendra Pariyar scored the winner in the 39th minute for the Sherpa Club. Earlier, Madhu Karki had given NFAC the lead in the 20th minute. Himalayan Sherpa will take on Sano Gaucharan Club in the second semi-finals on Thursday. Kathmandu City Club will meet Gyan Bhairav Club in the other semi-finals on Wednesday. — HNS

APF trounce Lamjung

MAHENDRA NAGAR: Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club trounced Lamjung 16-0 to advance to the quarter-finals of the 10th National Women’s Football Tournament here on Tuesday. Anu Lama alone struck eight goals and Jamuna Gurung five for APF while Jalasha Singh, Laxmi Poudel and Ganga Gurung also joined the party scoring one goal apiece. In other matches, Sita Thapa and Chandra Bhandari scored twice as Kailali hammered Sunsari 4-0, Binam Gurung scored the winner as Sarlahi registered a 1-0 win over Chitwan while Morang got a walkover win from Dhanusha. — HNS
