Golden Gate, Revolver advance

KATHMANDU: Golden Gate and Revolver made it to the semi-finals of the GAA sixth Fr Watrin Men’s Basketball Tournament here on Monday. Sushil Gurung netted 55 points alone including 11 three-pointer as Golden Gate hammered Samakhushi Youth Club 107-33 in the first quarter-final match. In the other quarter-final, Revolver bounced back in the last two quarters to beat White Field 43-38. White Field were leading 26-21 after the half time but could only manage to score two and 10 points giving away 10 and 12 in the final two quarters. Prajwol Thapa scored 17 for White Field while Utsav Chand contributed 11 for Revolver. Xavier International will take on Pentagon and Unique will face Trinity in the remaining quarter-final matches on Tuesday.

Baneswor, RR Campus triumph

LALITPUR: Baneswor Campus, Ratna Rajya (RR) Campus and Himalayan White House College recorded wins in the Akhil Cup Inter-college football tournament here on Monday. Sanju Chaudhary scored a brace as Baneswor beat Classic College 2-1. Bhim Basnet replied for Classic. In another match, RR defeated Geometric College 3-1 with goals from Jordan Rai,

Suraj Gurung and Nurbu Sherpa. Ita Gurung scored for Geometric. In the last match, White House saw off Advance Engineering College 2-1. Birendra Thapa and Sanjeev Rijal scored for White House while Niraj Limbu converted for Advance.
