ANFA names 20-member squad

LALITPUR: The All Nepal Football Association on Sunday named the final 20-member squad for the 11th South Asian Games women’s football. Jamuna Gurung, Bhagwati Thapa, Mana Maya Magar, Deepa Chhetri, Tulasa Singh, Usha Bhandari, Sajana Rana, Niru Thapa, Laxmi Poudel, Nisha Dewan, Mira Maharjan, Anu Lama, Pramila Rai, Chandra Bhandari, Deepa Adhikari, Binita Shrestha, Ranjana Suruchi, Asmita Khawas, Namita Dali and Sapana Lama made the cut.

Rara Hill enter semi-finals

KATHMANDU: Rara Hill and Rose Bud made it to the senior girls’ section semi-finals of the fifth RAA Inter-school Basketball Tournament on Sunday. Rose Bud advanced despite losing 40-25 against Rara Hill. Puspasadan, Panga, Rara Hill ‘B’ recorded wins in the senior boys’ matches.

Shankar Dev in quarter-finals

LALITPUR: Shankar Dev advanced to the quarter-finals of the Akhil Cup with a 6-4 win in tiebreaker over Pinnacle on Sunday. In other matches, Kathmandu Engineering edged Nepal Rastriya HS School 4-2 in tiebreaker and Triton defeated Amrit Science College 1-0.

Pentagon advance to last eight

KATHMANDU: Pentagon reached the quarter-finals of the GAA sixth Fr Watrin Men’s Basketball Tournament on Sunday. Pentagon hammered hosts GAA 90-15. In other matches, Revolver beat Public Youth 78-49 and White Field edged Samakhushi Youth Club 50-45.
