Lohani stars in Ktm win

Kathmandu, March 26:

Skipper Paresh Lohani struck an unbeaten century as Kathmandu district annihilated Bhaktapur by 264 runs and Lalitpur beat Nuwakot by 125 runs riding on a swift century by Prasanna Shakya at the Springwood Region No 3 Senior Selection Cricket Tournament today.

Kathmandu scored a massive 325-2 from their allotted 40 overs before dismissing Bhaktapur for 61 in 28 overs. Opener Lohani scored 124 off 104 balls that included 11 fours and two sixes. Dipendra Chaudhary fell 13 runs short of his second century of the tournament. He struck nine fours and three sixes in his 66-ball 87. Chaudhary scored 101 against Nuwakot on Tuesday. Paras Khadka also joined the run-feast scoring an explosive 54 not out from 25 balls including seven fours and two sixes. Lohani’s opening partner Laxman Pradhan made 42. Saurav Malla and Deep Shakya took one wicket apiece for Bhaktapur.

Prabin Joshi top-scored with 18 not out and was the only Bhaktapur batsman to score in double figure. Raju Basnet and Raman Shrestha claimed three wickets each while Raj Shrestha took two for Kathmandu.

In another match, Lalitpur were all out for 212 in 38.2 overs and restricted Nuwakot for 87 runs in 21.3 overs. Prashanna Shakya scored 100 off 78 balls hitting 13 fours and two sixes. Aamir Akhtar made 25 and Birendra Shah 24. Ritesh Singh, Rom Shrestha, Hemanta Sapkota and Rakesh Singh took two wickets each for Nuwakot.

In reply, Radhyshyam Mishra scored 32 for Nuwakot. Aamir Akhtar and Kritartha Shakya claimed four wickets each and Nasim Akhtar two for Lalitpur.
