Madan Smarak edge past Serafims

Madan Smarak, Mount Olives, Bright Future and Halchowk School registered victories in the Coca-Cola Cup Inter-school Football Tournament here at the Sano Gaucharan grounds today.

In the day’s first match of the district-wide tournament, Madan Smarak edged past Serafims Public School 1-0. Bishal Thapa scored the solitary goal of the match in the 40th minute. In another match, Mount Olives thrashed Holy Vision Higher Secondary School 5-0 riding on a brace from Ashish Thapa. Thapa scored in the 40th and 45th minutes after Michael Pandey had provided the lead in the 32nd minute. Bibek Parajuli scored in the 42nd minute and Abishek Giri completed the rout in 67th minute.

Likewise, Rojit Pudasaini scored two goals as Bright Future defeated DAV School 3-0. Pudasaini put Bright Future ahead in the fifth minute and doubled the tally in the 14th minute to go into the break with a 2-0 lead. Sahil Rana the added one more in the 43rd minute to seal the comprehensive victory.

Also, Rikesh Lama’s treble helped Halchowk thrash Vidhya Sagar 4-1. Lama scored in the 16th, 36th and 60th minutes to complete his hat-trick, while Roshan Ale Magar netted one in the ninth minute. Uday Raj Shahi scored the consolation goal for Vidya Sagar.
