KATHMANDU: Manang Marshyangdi Club played a 1-1 draw with India’s Minerva Punjab in the 2019 AFC Cup match here at the ANFA Complex grounds on Wednesday.
The two sides had settled for a 2-2 stalemate in their previous encounter at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on May 1. Minerva were reduced to 10 men after Prateek Joshi received second yellow card just before the halftime whistle.
Thoiba Singh put Minerva ahead in 40th minute. The home team created a couple of chances in the second half as the Minerva were one man down.
However, MMC levelled the scores in the 81st minute when Shaheed Azeez calmly headed the ball into the goal from a crowded box.
MMC will next play against Dhaka Abahani, while Minerva will take on Chennaiyin FC.
