Maradona to meet Tevez, Mascherano in London

Buenos Aires, October 31:

Diego Maradona says he will fly to England to meet Argentina stars Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano three days before he is appointed the new national team coach.

The football great is expected to be officially appointed by Argentina’s federation on Tuesday alongside new team manager Carlos Bilardo, and his first game in charge will be against Scotland in Glasgow on November 19.

Before his appointment, however, he wants to link up with Tevez, who plays for Manchester United, and Mascherano, who is with Liverpool. “The idea is to travel on Saturday to England to see Mascherano and Tevez,” Maradona said. Tevez is likely to play some part in Manchester United’s game at home to Hull and Mascherano will probably start for Liverpool at Tottenham.
