Meridian triumph

KATHMANDU: Meridian International School recorded a 64-run victory over Hebron School in the inaugural match of the Expert School Cricket League here at the Nepal APF Club grounds in Halchowk on Tuesday.

Put in to bat first, Meridian scored 130-2 in allotted 25 overs and packed Hebron for 66 runs in 16.2 overs. Meridian reached the fighting total after Surendra Basnet scored 40 off 62 hitting six boundaries, while Irfan Khan added 28 off 54 balls that included three fours. Sujan Poudel picked up three wickets for Hebron. Krishna Yadav top sored for Hebron with 21 off 29 balls hitting four boundaries and Sunil Shrestha struck three fours in his four-ball 12. Meridian’s Irfan Khan took four wickets. Earlier, APF AIG Sailendra Khanal inaugurated the tournament.
