MMC take on Army today

Lalitpur, April 2:

Manang Marsyangdi Club (MMC) will play Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) in the opening match of the third Nepal Bank ‘A’ Division Junior (U-14) League Football here on Tuesday.

In all, 12 junior teams of the ‘A’ division clubs — Nabil Three Star, TAC, Samsung Jawalakhel Youth, NIB Friends, Boys Union, NRT, Sankata Kathmandu Mall, Sony RCT, Machhindra Energizer, Carlsberg MMC, Mahendra Police and Armed Police Force — are taking part in the event.

The 12 teams are divided into two groups and the top two clubs after the league round will advance to the knockout phase. The winners will get a purse of Rs 100,000 while the runners up will receive Rs 50,000 and the losing semi-finalists will get Rs 25,000 each. The estimated budged of the event is Rs 875,000, of which Nepal Bank Limited will bear Rs 300,000, said the organisers at a press meet today.

Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Bank Limited Craig McAllister and ANFA president Ganesh Thapa were among the officials present.
