Defending champions Mahendra Police Club beat Durgapur Steel Plant 6-2 and entered the semi-final of Mahendra Gold Cup football tournament.

Hari Khadka scored four goals for MPC. He scored in the 35th minute of the first half and in 13th and 30th minute of the second half. Khadka scored his fourth goal at the fag end of the match. Dev Narayan Chaudhary scored two goals.

Against the run of play the first goal of the match was scored by Prasun Mandal of Durgapur in the 28th minute of the match.

Mandal scored from right side of D-box area on a pass given by Dev Kumar Ray. The attacking Indian team slowed down the proceedings after Khadka (of MPC) scored in the 35th minute.

MPC quickly gained momentum after Dev Narayan scored the second goal for his team two minutes later. On Sunday Jhapa XI take on Sahara Club.
