Kathmandu, June 29

Lalitpur District Boxing Association announced the dates of the fourth Nationwide and first Junior Boxing Tournament here on Wednesday.

The tournament will be held from August 9-14 at the International Sports Complex, Satdobato. The tournament will feature 17 weight categories — 10 in men and seven each in women and junior — informed the organisers. A total of 500 players from 22 districts and three departmental teams are expected to take part in the tournament.

The winners will receive Rs 5,000 while the runners-up will get Rs 3,000 and two losing semi-finalists will be awarded with Rs 1,000 each. Manakamana Chimney Bhatta has sponsored the cash prize, while Mandala and Kismis Banquet have sponsored the logistic costs for the tournament, informed Spokesperson Shyam Awale.
