Unique, Galaxy win

KATHMANDU: Unique and Galaxy Public won the junior boys matches at the fifth Unique Inter-school Valleywide Basketball Tournament here on Monday. Unique saw off Awareness International Academy 38-15 riding on 28 points from Jangboo Sherpa. Galaxy defeated Wilson Academy 10-9 in a low scoring match. In other matches, Sanjay Shrestha scored 13 points to give Gauri Shankar a 23-6 win over Jagat Mandir while Daffodil edged past Young Heart 13-6 and Reliance crushed Grammar Public School 20-12. In a senior girls’ match, Galaxy beat Daffodil 15-6.

HISSAN football

KATHMANDU: The first HISSAN Friendship Football Cup Running Shield begins here from Tuesday. A total of 24 Higher Secondary Schools will participate in the knockout tournament organised by the Higher Secondary School Association, Nepal (HISSAN). This was the first sports event organised by the HISSAN which will be followed by a basketball tournament next month.
