NCC beat Tri-Chandra

Lalitpur, January 13:

Nepal Commerce Campus defeated Tri-Chandra College by two wickets to secure the quarter-finals berth of the fourth Vice-Chancellor Running Shield Cricket tournament here today.

Batting first, Tri-Chandra were bowled out for 107 runs in 23.5 overs. TC lost opener Subash Khakurel for five runs, but the second wicket pair of Subash Sharma (38) and Deepak Chhetri (18) added 66 runs before their batting collapsed. The remaining seven wickets fell for just 41 runs. For NCC, Sachin Malla and Ram Naresh Yadav took three wickets each while Ramu Chandra Chalise claimed two.

TC chased the target in 24 overs losing eight wickets. TC started badly losing opener Anuj Basnet (1) and Roshan Tandukar for a golden duck. Ram Naresh Yadav not only survived the hat-trick ball but batted well to top-score with 36 off 40 balls.

Man of the match Yadav shared a 40-run partnership with Sajal Tandukar (12) for the third wicket. Biplav Agrahari scored unbeaten 15 runs. For NCC, Sudip Sharma took three and Pratap Man Singh and Angel Ac-harya claimed two wickets each.
