KATHMANDU: Nepal beat Afghanistan 3-2 in the third match of the Bangabandhu Asian Central Zone Volleyball Championship in Dhaka on Saturday. Nepal won the first, third and fifth set in the thrilling match to register their second victory of the tournament. Nepal registered a 25-21 victory in the first set before losing 18-25 in the second. Nepal restored the lead with a 25-14 win in the third set before Afghanistan levelled the scores at 2-2 with a 25-19 victory. In the final set, Nepal registered a 15-14 victory. Nepal had defeated the Maldives in the first match before losing 3-0 at the hands of hosts Bangladesh on Friday. A total of five nations are competing in the tournament. After the round robin league, top two teams will advance to the final, while the next two will play in third-place playoff.
