KATHMANDU: Nepal advanced to the mixed team event final of the first South Asian Regional Badminton Tournament in Guwahati on Tuesday.

The Nepali team of Dipesh Dhami, Nabin Shrestha, Gautam Kathayet, Jesica Gurung, Sunaina Mukhiya and Rasila Maharjan finished second behind India in the round-robin event.

Nepal beat Bangladesh, Bhutan and the Maldives by identical 5-0 scoreline and lost to India by same score.

The final is on Wednesday.
