Nepal face 5-0 defeat against Oman, crash out, without notching a goal

KATHMANDU: Nepal suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat against Oman in their last group game of the AFC U-19 Qualifiers at the Dolen Omurzakov Stadium, in Bishekh on Wednesday.

Having lost all their previous encounters, today's game against Oman was to salvage some pride for the Himalayan Nation, however, couldn't prevent further loss as opponent were playing to their lives for making it to the second round.

Oman's skipper Faisal Al Harthi broke the dead-lock as early on 11th minute with a stunning free-kick from just outside the D-box area.

Oman were playing with confidence in defeating Nepal for progressing into the another round doubled their lead on the half hour mark, after Arshad Al-Alawi scored after a one-on-one situation with Nepali custodian Sorjit.

It was no stopping for the Gulf nation as they stormed to 3-0 lead before the half time break.

After the break, Oman continued to dominate the proceeding and added two more goals and gave themselves a good account of making it into the next round as best runners-up teams.

Thamir Al Zaabi scored in the dying seconds of the match.

Arshand Al Alawi and skipper scored a brace each to humble Nepal in the last group game of the campaign.
