Nepal face Kyrgyzstan

KATHMANDU: Nepal U-16 football team will face hosts Kyrgyzstan in the second match of the AFC U-16 Qualifiers in Bishkek on Friday. Nepal — who beat Jordan 2-1 in the opening match on Wednesday, are currently in the second position in Group B standing behind Oman, who beat Kyrgyzstan 2-0.

Nepal’s coach Upendra Man Singh said Kyrgyzstan will have the home advantage in the match. “The victory over Jordan has boosted the morale of the players but we have to be cautious against the hosts,” said the former national team skipper. A total of 15 teams — group winners of all 10 pools and five best runners-up — will join hosts India in next year’s tournament proper.
