KATHMANDU: Nepal No 1 professional golfer Sukra Bahadur Rai faltered in the final round of the India Cements Pro Championship at the TNGF Cosmo Golf Course in Chennai on Saturday.
Rai played four-over 76 and fell 11 places down to 30th position with the 72-hole score of one-under 287. Rai - who played rounds of 72, 71 and 72 in the first three rounds - failed to keep the momentum going on the final day as he faced three each bogeys on either half.
He shared the 30th position with Indian pro Ravi Kumar and they earned INR 50,975 each. India's Sunhit Bishnoi carded eight-under 64 in the final round to win the INR five million tournament with an impressive score of 20-under 268.
Bangladesh pro Jamal Hossain was a distant second at 11-under 277, while three Indians, Trishul Chinnappa, Abhijit Singh Chadha and Divyanshu Bajaj, shared the third place at 278.
