POKHARA: Nepal Police Club has advanced to the quarter-finals of the Aaha Rara Gold Cup Football Tournament with a hard fought 1-0 win over Rumpum Jhapa XI, on Friday.

Suman Lama scored only goal in the pre-quarterfinal clash at Pokhara Stadium. NPC will now face Manang Marshyangdi Club in the last eight encounter on Tuesday.

During the post-match conference, NPC coach Ananta Thapa said that his players will have to improve scoring in coming matches. Thapa also said that his team is full of young players who have great potentials adding he is committed to hone their skills.

Likewise, Jhapa XI coach Prabesh Katwal said that his team lacking experienced players was main reason behind the defeat. "Most of the players in the team are young and they still lack proper experience to win such big matches," said Katwal.
