NPC set final date against TAC
Lalitpur, January 25
Defending champions Tribhuvan Army Club and Nepal Police Club advanced to the final of the second CoAS National Men’s Volleyball Tournament here at the Nepal Army Sports Complex today.
In the day’s semi-finals, hosts TAC thrashed Western Region in straight sets, while NPC bounced back from two sets down to register a hard fought 3-2 victory over Nepal APF Club to make it to the final.
TAC recorded a 25-17, 25-19, 25-16 victory against Western. In another match, APF claimed first two sets winning 27-25 and 25-21 before NPC bounced back to claim remaining three sets 25-21, 25-18, 15-7 to set championship date against TAC.
TAC had entered to the last four winning all three matches of Group A, while NPC were unbeaten in all three matches in Group B. Top three teams will receive Rs 300,000, Rs 150,000 and Rs 75,000 respectively. The player of the tournament will get a Pulsar 150CC motorcycle, while the best coach, blocker, lifter, spiker and defender will get Rs 15,000 each.
