NPC, United record wins

Nepal Police Club and United Cricket Club recorded victories in the Deepak Gupta Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament here at Rangabhumi grounds today.
NPC saw off Phoenix Cricket Club by 34 runs, while United beat Janakpur Cricket Team by 40 runs.
In the day's second match, NPC posted 161-6 in their allotted 20 overs and restricted Phoenix for 127-8.
NPC reached a mammoth total riding on Dilip Nath's unbeaten 27-ball 45 that included four boundaries and three sixes, while Sunil Dhamala added 27 off 23 balls hitting four boundaries and a six. Aarif Sheikh, who cracked three sixes, scored a quickfire of 12-ball 23.
In reply, Rajpaul Saikia remained not out on 23-ball 37 hitting a four and two sixes, while Bharat Newar scored run-a-ball 25 with help of two boundaries. NPC's Dipendra Singh Airee and the player-of-the-match Sunil Dhamala claimed two wickets each.
In the day's first match, United scored 157-4 before restricting Janakpur for 117-8.
Rajan Singh scored 33-ball 46 hitting five boundaries and a six, while Aarajab Raj and Haseem Ansari contributed 36 runs each to help United post a fighting total. Raj hit five boundaries and a six in 28 balls, while Ansari, who was not out, also faced 28 balls that included four boundaries and a six. Janakpur's Samsad Sheikh claimed three wickets.
In reply, Shankar Rana (47) and Hari Shankar Sah (28) only reached double figures for Janakpur. United's Saidullah Ansari and Haseem Ansari, who was named the man-of-the-match, picked up three wickets each.
