NPC beat Armymen

Nepal Police Club won the title of the second Pathibhara National Open Men’s Volleyball Tournament here on Saturday.

NPC came from a set down to defeat Tribhuvan Army Club 3-2 in the last match of the round robin league.

TAC claimed the first 25-19 but NPC hit back winning two straight sets 25-15 and 25-20. TAC levelled the scores at 2-2 by claiming the fourth set 25-22. NPC came back strongly in the final and won it 15-11.

NPC received Rs 330,000, while TAC earned Rs 165,000. In the day’s another match, APF defeated Eastern Region 25-13, 25-18, 25-8 to finish third. APF and Eastern won Rs 35,000 each. NPC’s Kul Bahadur Thapa was named the best player of the tournament and received Rs 10,000.

Similarly, NPC’s Chandra Bahadur Kunwar was adjudged the best spiker and Im Rana Magar won the best setter’s award.

TAC’s Hari Adhikari was named the best blocker, Ishwor Thapa Magar received the best defender’s award and Hari Hajur Thapa was declared the best server. The individual award winners got Rs 5,000 each.
