KATHMANDU:  A three-member sambo team, including two players, on Wednesday left for Bulgaria to take part in the third World Sambo Championship slated for November 10-14.

Gopal Pun Magar will compete in the men’s 68kg category, while Ashmila Chhantyal will fight in the women’s 64kg event. Nepal Sambo Federation Vice-president Raj Kumar Shrestha is the team official.

National Sports Council Member Narayan Prasad Paudel bade farewell to the team at the Tribhuvan International Airport on Wednesday.
