KATHMANDU: Nepal suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat at the hands of Bhutan in their second group fixture of the ongoing SAFF U-18 Championship in Kathmandu, on Sunday.

Bhutan's Yonse broke the deadlock in the 40th minute in the first half. After the restart, Nepal poured men forward in search of an equaliser but to no avail.

However, Nepal conceded two late goals in the dying minutes and capitulated to a defeat in front of the home crowd at Nepal's APF Grounds in Halchowk today.

With this defeat, defending champion Nepal's progress into the next round hinge on the other fixture between the Maldives and Bhutan on Tuesday.

Nepal will advance to the semi-finals if the Maldives beat Bhutan by four clear goals or lose by the same scoreline.

Bhutan top the group with three points, Nepal and the Maldives have one point each.
