Nepal suffer loss, again

Kathmandu, February 8

Nepal faced a 152-run defeat against hosts India in the second T20 World Cup for Blind at the Gokaraju Liala Gangaaraju ACA Cricket Ground today.

Opting to bat first, India scored 289-1 in 20 overs and restricted Nepal to 137-5 to record a huge victory.

Ajay Kumar Reddy scored a quick fire 50-ball 109 and Venkateswara Rao remained unbeaten on 82 off just 33 balls to help India post a mammoth total. Reddy smashed 17 boundaries before being retired hurt and Rao hit 11 fours. Durga Rao scored 33-ball 53.

In reply, Nepali batsmen could not play openly against the Indian attack. Ramesh Bahadur Baniya top scored for Nepal with 35 off 36 balls that included two fours, while Padam Bahadur Badaila hit 22-ball 28 with the help of three boundaries. Bikram Bahadur Rana remained unbeaten on 24 off 28 balls hitting two sixes. Nepal will play their last match of the tournament against New Zealand on Thursday.
